I am also sure you could ask this man (silence) very nicely to make you his custom solid motor mounts a tad taller for you and no they do not shake the whole car you waffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswaffless. :p

you aren't going to gain enough room to make it worth the effort, the TB is already very close to the hood. Plus you are raising the heaviest possible part, pretty much the opposite of what you want to do with center of gravity. Go with the skidplate, it will protect the pan and rack.

I will post a specific part# so you guy's can check out pricing. Although used ones have worked just fine for my cheap ass. Do not buy the ones that have a groove cut around the top bolt! You may have to mount them upside down because the bottom of the mount may hit the frame rail. Another thing make sure you use a 87 and older throttle body, if not it will crash into your hood. After doing this my car never broke an oil pan but I did this because I don't have the money to spend on a skid plate.
At first i was like Oh great an m3 part...

Maybe I didn't see it, but what E36 mounts specifically do you need for this to work right, and how much clearance is actually gained?

Why don't you just add washers to your stock motor mounts to raise it up?

ive never had issues with dips or pot holes, but in LA, you have to be careful with the waves in the roads thats 18 wheelers make. I remember driving on a straight road and scraping my oil pan, its just not worth it.

you oil pan is at the same level as your rack and pinion, even a bit higher.
