    Warm start up issue

89 325is M20. When warm the doesn't like to start, idles rough eventually stalling out after 20 seconds or so. Most times it takes a few tries of starting, rough idle, turning off, re-starting, stalling, re-starting etc. Then its fine, no other problems, I can't discern a miss at speed, loss of power, hesitation or any other symptoms, it does have a small cam so it has a rougher idle than normal. When its cold it starts with no problems, but after for a bit if it sits for more than 5 minutes it doesn't like to be restarted. If it sits for less than 5 minutes it fires right up and has no problems.

Any ideas on what could be causing the warm start up problems? Any ideas would be appreciated, thanks guys.

I have a few ideas of what it could be. Fuel pressure (possibly a bad fuel pressure regulator or a bad injector) or maybe even a coolant temp. sensor.
