Dude know this sounds stupid and unlikly but replace your fuel filter..
I had the same problem and though it was my injectors, or Ms, or what ever..
turned out it was a the fuel filter.. changed it on friday... all fixed..!

That tells me, exactly nothing. Does, or does not, the tach react as I described during an event?
Check the WOT switch in the TPS. If it is okay, run the fuel system tests in the Bentley.Originally posted by e30trooperi kinda have this too. I have a loss of power past 5k rpms.Leave a comment:

i kinda have this too. I have a loss of power past 5k rpms. I have not replaced my fpr or tps , i cleaned the cpc. I do however have a very bad exhaust manifold leak. ( gaskets are trashed and missing one stud ) Car dosnt pull like it used to. Checked plugs yesterday. they are all a lil golden ( i replaced them maybe 5k ago ) got newish cap/rotor/plug wires..
Not thread jacking, i just need some info too.Leave a comment:

i changed it. ive replced the fuel pump, fuel filter, spark plugs, spark plug wires, head gasket, afm, head bolts, dme, coolant temp sensor, all new gaskets, coil, oil filter, oil, and more stuff i cant remember.
so im so lost. only thing i can think is cps, bad gas, or too much gap in spark plugs, or something else.
thanks.Leave a comment:

If I lose throttle and turn the car off it,ill tutn it back on and it loses throttle in the same amount of time it'll do the same thing.I don't understand what you mean. If the the DME shuts down or looses timing data the tach will instantly go to zero. If that happens while the car is in gear and moving it is a sure sign that of a problem with the DME or CPS. However if the tach doesn't exhibit that behavior the probable cause a a problem with the fuel system.
DME power is provided by the small cable that connects to the battery positive post. That wire includes a fusible link that can go bad. If that happens the DME may "brown out". The DME grounds are the set of brown wires that are tied to the chassis at the right side shock tower.Leave a comment:

When an event occurs does the tach go to zero while in gear and moving? That would suugest a problem with the CPS, DME, or DME power/ground. If the tach doesn't drop the fuel system becomes the likely suspect.Leave a comment:
