I agree with Matt. It shouldn't be an issue. I love my 2.8, torque for days son! FYI stock injectors are 14.5ib, 17ib. are m50 injectors.

I would say yes, should be fine. Assuming you have a nice cat on there, not some $40 garbage.

Assuming you are smogging with stock Motronic I'd use a stock B25 chip, should make it run lean and clean. :)

Ya that's what I was thinking. Using my stock 173 b25 ecu, and even running the stock 14.5# injectors.

And the I'll only be running it like this for the Smog test, nothing else...

I have been tossing around the idea to build a stroker 2.8 maybe 3.0 motor, but i live in Nazi-Greenpease-I know better than you-California
and have to adhere to the "laws" on smog and look to keep this a daily driver.
I just finished my turbo build that I have perfected as a total 2hr swap!
So once ever 2yrs it takes me two hours to swap from turbo'd to bone stock smog legal E30, then 2 hours back to spooling swoosh! :pimp:

So my question is "if" I was to build this and drop it in my car will this motor run and pass smog if it's on all stock efi, injectors, maf, and 173 ecu.

This is my planed motor~
Crank: M52 (84mm Stroke)
Rods: ETA (130mm)
Bore: 84mm (Stock)
Pistons: Stock 325i pistons


I like this setup cause it's Square... :p

Crank: S52 (89.6mm Stroke)
Rods: S50 (135mm)
Bore: 84mm (Stock 325I)
