Thats what i want to know, if you go to all this effort to replace rubber with silicone and still leave 1 piece rubber then why not just replace it with new OE in the first place??
My question is does someone actually make the replacement hose im refering to.. cause the more and more i look at it silicone just doesnt seem worth it.Leave a comment:

The problem with the OE hoses would be? A fresh set of OE hoses are good for 100k, so I don't really an advantage to silicone.Leave a comment:

whats NAPA? there's one in Melbourne Florida, I'm in Melbourne Australia.
Also either end has a different ID, and it'd have to make have a 130ish degree bend to work, it isnt straight like in the pic...Leave a comment:

Is there a NAPA store in Melbourne? They carry all kinds of heater hoses. Just buy one with the same ID/OD then cut it to the right length.Leave a comment:

Question about silicon hose kits
Hi All,
Can anybody tell me if there are any manufactures who make silicone hose kits (i.e. samco) that make a replacement for P/N 64211380527 (#12) that being the hose that goes from the back of the engine block into the heater core.

AFAIK all the kits being sold at present (i.e. samco, I.E.,hiperformancestore.com etc) for a s2 e30 have kits containing 5 individual hoses, and none of these are the replacement for 64211380527?? All kits will give you the 3 way hose that goes from the heater core to the overflow and rad, but not the heater core outlet...
Now i could be all wrong and there could be a manufacture out there who does do this, but from what ive seen it doesnt look that way. If so it begs the question, why bother with silicone if theres still rubber in the system??
