A little background, I am no rookie with e30's, m20's or motronic, so I would not be posting here if I hadn't already been thorough in my diagnostics.
Car: 88, iX, M20, DME: 173
Car starts, runs, idles fine. If you crack the throttle a bit and hold it, then rev it to wot, it reacts perfectly.
But if you try to rev it to wot from completely closed throttle, it doesnt rev AT ALL, then back fires. Very strange.
I naturally figured it was the tps, and even though it tested fine, I replaced it. No change.
Tested the signals all the way to the DME, tests fine. Swapped in known-working DME, no change
FPR tests fine. Tested AFM and it was fine. Swapped in another known good one for good measure, no change.
Mind boggled.
All the other sensors are new and/or test fine. Grounds are all good.
The key here has to be the difference between the TPS already being off full closed, then going to wot as opposed to going from closed, directly to wot.
Ugh.
