Heat loss at idle, temperature gauge climbs slowly

    It shouldn't go above 1/2 unless
    Sticking t-stat restricting flow causing a blockage going to the radiator or
    Failing water pump.

    Do you hear any odd sounds around the Heater valve area?

      Thanks for the help guys but it looks like I will never get a chance to fix this problem. The car was totaled tonight. :(

            Unfortunately while driving home late at night on Saturday I hit some ice on the highway and it spun out and slammed into the wall. The car is badly bent and smashed on the front and rear left side. Luckily I didn't hit anyone else and I wasn't hurt at all. Lesson learned but I just wish it didn't have to be learned this way, man I only had the car two weeks.

            I'll be parting it out soon and searching for a new chassis. I'm very keen on finding a 318is to replace it.
