Alright guys this is driving me nuts. I need to smog this thing so I can start the engine build but I'm worried it won't pass as is. 1985 325e, manual.
Coming to a stop when driving it warm it will idle at 1300ish for usually about 5 or so seconds before coming back down to 800 where it idles smoothly. If I have it in gear, foot off the gas as I slow down, it engine brakes until that 1300ish mark and then cruises there almost as if I was lightly on the gas. When I start it cold it idles at 700 and drives normally until it reaches this magic "warm" point where it does the 1300 thing. Car sometimes stumbles off the line if the RPMs drop too low. If you unplug the ICV at idle it surges pretty bad.
I did a smoke test with my fog machine and can't find any more leaks (fixed one cracked hose to ICV). ICV has been cleaned multiple times, new O2 sensor, refurbished AFM (about to be tuned, it's running a little rich. Not sure if this is related). Seems like vacuum leak but I just can't find one anywhere. Anything else it could be?
