So I am gathering parts and ordering rebuild pieces. Would the piston rings be the same as the 2.5l as its the same bore?

Reasons are
- pistons are not a few mm down bore like it would with 130 rod, 81 stroke and b25 piston
- reliefs are shallower than b25
- raised squish area similar to b25 but is smaller radially

Last question. For future reference. What about the piston protrusion tells ya what your looking at. This is purely a question of wanting to learn more.

looks like seta slugs which are b25 but valve reliefs smaller. Can you put cylinder 1 at tdc and take pic so we can see if it sits low w.r.t deck

success i think
Ok so with the head off I took some quick measurements of the bore and stroke within the accuracy of my digital calipers. Bore is 84mm.
stroke was a bit harder as the piston sits above the top of block, at the lowest point it is 1.19mm above, made a mark on piston and turned it down to BDC. measurement to the mark was 80mm add the 1.19mm above gives a stroke of 81mm+-. from the reading im doing the 2.5 had a stroke of 75mm and the 2.7 has a stroke of 81mm
this leads me to believe this is a seta based on these results and the head set up. please correct me if I am wrong.
Thanks!
