Alternator - Filter Capacitor

For those that have changed an alternator with an aftermarket one? Did you guys have to swap the filter capacitor over?

There are two boxes on the back, one is voltage reg and one is the filter capacitor. Just wondering if they are suppose to come with it when you buy a new reman one.
