Hah, I won't. I'm using the rest of my car funds to order the gasket set, then ordering some ARP studs after I get paid :twisted:Leave a comment:

Is this the gasket set you ordered? It appears to have the doubles to cover both engines like you mentioned, as opposed to others like this:

Also, before you locktite the studs in, do a trial fit of the manifolds and valve cover to make sure there is enough stud exposed for the nuts. In other words don't just bottom out the studs and start assembly, they will come up short.Leave a comment:

When you order the head gasket kit from Bavauto it includes all the gaskets for both the eta and i motor. We ordered one for my son's eta and I was quite impressed. It had among other things the 2 different style intake manifold gaskets and both types of header to downpipe gaskets. We had alot of leftovers which were i motor stuff as well as extra thermostat o-rings.As far as studs your best bet would be the dealer(iirc they were dirt cheap) or try gkeuroparts.comgkeuroparts can build your gasket kit too. I would have gone with him had I thought about it in time.Leave a comment:

Found some numbers for the exhaust studs, said I needed 12 studs that are 8mmx40mm, and of course 12 nuts to top them, but it didn't mention the extra two holes labeled #19

And realoem.com says I need three #19s, but I only see where two would even goLast edited by Zyth01; 09-29-2008, 11:50 PM.Leave a comment:

Also, does anyone know if any company (online or otherwise) sells a kit for intake and exhaust manifold studs?
Or even better, does anyone know what size and quantities of each size I'll need?
All the studs on my head were taken out and seems like most info on sites like realoem.com is pretty sketchy on saying how many of what size you need.Leave a comment:

Which headgasket set to order
I have an 85 325e and I'm about to order a head gasket set for, but I'm going to be putting on an "i" head, "i" intake, and "i" throttle body when I change out the gaskets.
Partsamerica.com lists only one part number for both type of m20, regardless of year. But other sites (most likely more reliable) like PelicanParts and BMA list two different sets depending which head it has.
From previous searching I am under the impression that the head gasket itself is the same at 84mm, but the accompanying gaskets differ. Is this correct so that I should just get the set for an "I" to work with the intake manifold? Or should I just try to mix and match and buy parts separately?Tags: None
