Wasted Spark Question

Kind of a dumb question, I'm going with Megasquirt and wasted spark on my M30B35 swap. I've seen the block off plates used after the distributor cap is removed. Does the rotor just get left in place or should it be removed? Is there another block off plate of any kind needed if it is removed?
