so about 1 month and a half ago my brothers m42 started and made a very loud shrieking noise, to the point you had to plug your ears and you could still hear it. It seemed to come mostly from the passenger side of the engine.
Well he started it a few times so we could try and figure out the noise and then it just wouldn't start. We changed the spark plugs, changed the oil with no luck.
Spun the motor via socket wrench and crank nut, and it makes a kinda rattling/clinking noise somewhere in the engine.
We checked the spark plug wires and they're giving no spark- new plugs mind you.
it is getting fuel to the plugs for sure, but there was a code for fuel expansion??? something from a stomp test.
any advice is appreciated, i do have a feeling its something internal, like maybe a crank bearing. but anyone with m42 experience please chime in.
