Interest in Bolt on Turbo kit?

For this kit there will only be an internal wastegate. For a low boost setup, internal is a good fit, and much simpler.www.classicdaily.net

interested. I was all about super charging for bolt-on easy/reliable-ish forced induction..
but the pricing on this kit looks like some pretty high bang-for-buck factor.. something hard to dismiss - and coming from jakeb, something to be taken seriously.
My interest would definitely grow with seeing pictures and results of e30/m42 installed kits.
One of the bigger appeals of turbos to me are actual efficiency/mpg improvements.
The thought of an enthusiast-developed, well-sorted, moderately tuned, reliable, smooth-delivery, complete bolt on m42 turbo kit is VERY appealing.
Even if end-result was like 185 HP and 35+ mpg, how cool would that be ?!

The downpipe would be close to the stock exhaust but you would need to have it joined up with that you already have. It will include a vband flange for the mating pipe.www.classicdaily.net

Wow, that looks like a really complete setup for $1700. When I built my e30 a few years ago I spent a fair amount more than that, though I did a few things differently.
A few people mentioned reliability concerns - I have been running my turbo setup, tuned seat-of-the-pants, for 40k miles now. The engine has 260k miles on it and has not been rebuilt, though I did at one point get ice in a vacuum line, spiked boost, and blew the original HG. Now running ARP studs and a new stock gasket with no problems, and this one has been going for something like 30k miles.
Also, my M42 turbo with a 3.73 rear end gets between 30 and 32 mpg on highway trips, cruising around 80 mph.
