    M42 conrods

I purchased 2 sets of eagle conrods to find out that they only measured 135mm center to center. When i measured the ones that are currently in the engine now they measured 140mm. I looked on realoem and found that both the european and USA engines have the same rod part numbers and piston part numbers (considering there are 4 different sized pistons) (140mm). when i emailed eagle they gave me the following response. I am from Australia as well so shipping them back is going to be painfull and im not sure if the supplier in America is going to want to send them back

    "Josh,
There are two different lengths that BMW used in those engines. What we have found is that the US-spec engines used the 5.313" rods and the European-spec engines used the longer ones. I do not have any sort of VIN code or production serial numbers to help identify them unfortunately. Unless you already have pistons, it is no problem to use the 135mm rods in an engine that originally had the longer rods as long as you use pistons for the 135mm rods (pin position is lower). Sorry for the confusion.

    Thanks."

Have you gusy heard of this?

could i use these in a M52 considering they run a 135mm conrod?
Working...
