Not really but you'd better do one hell of a job inspecting them.
The more old parts you use, the more likely you will have to go back and redo something later when it fails.
    Just use good judgement.

If I have an airbag car and am being supplied with non-airbag pedals (the opposite problem of what the author of this article had) , what will I need to do to make them fit?

Also my 1990 BMW 325i has a 3.73 open diff. Will I be able to use this or do I need a different differential? (haha) The parts car is an 87 325is btw.

Can someone send me the pictures and I will host them myself? jeremyjenewein at gmail dot com

You will have the cut the upper section of the old pedals from the air bag car to use as a steering column support. The steering column is different on air bag cars and the non-air bag pedals won't have the upper support, so you're whole column will just flop around.

You can use the 3.73 open diff.

        Cool thanks a lot man!
I'm sure it'll be easier to understand when I have the two pedals sitting next to eachother :)

Yeah man, you will know exactly what I am talking about once you remove the old pedals.

Have you noticed Marvin hasn't posted in over a year? Give it up man, pics aren't even necessary. I did it using the 10 step/no image write up on bmwe30.net

I like the writeup on bmwe30.net, the guy sure didn't hestitate to bust out bolt cutters or the sawzall when he got pissed! Seems simple enough.

It's a LOT easier than it seems.

am unsure if this has been covered, but the wiring is a little different from mine

on two facelifts now, one 325i, one 318i the wiring has been connecting the two green/black wires with the one green/white wire in the reverse light harness.

hope that helps, makes it a little clearer
