I've been searching the local salvage yards for a 188mm lsd, and I came across a 325ix. I pulled the diff, under the impression that it was a standard clutch type lsd. I cleaned it off and saw a big "V" stamped on it, so then I searched a bit and learned that it's a viscous diff. So, my situation is, I was planning on transplanting the lsd mechanism into an e36 case, with some 3.46 gears, to make a custom diff. Is the case of the viscous iX diff the same as the other e30 diffs? If so, it'll work, and I'll keep it. If not, I only paid $79 for it, and I'm sure I could sell it for more than that.
