Just keep an eye out on here for a full diff. Shipping isn't THAT much for a full diff and they pop up all the time. I think it might be hard to find someone that is selling just the clutch pack.

See thats the thing; up here in minnesota, there just are not a lot of e30s, much less extra parts floating around for them. So i though maybe this would be a more practical means of an lsd as apposed to hunting one down.

Yeah like he said it would be easier to buy one. I just started looking at junk yards for a totaled BMW with a 4cyl and I found one with LSD. However if you plan to build the engine it be a better idea to find one out of a newer 6cyl, because those ones have medium casings which are better for the higher power.

you're probably better off just buying a lsd.

can you convert an open diff to a lsd?

Hey, i'll start this off by pointing out that i have not opened up the diff on any e30, yet. So i dont' know what it looks like inside. but i was wondering if you you could take your existing open differential apart, and install a clutch pack made for the lsd differentials?

just wondering, in the event that it could potentially be a little bit more cost effective.
