    Any idea if this will fit and work on the back of a Getrag 245/288 GC? (Tranny out of an E21 323i)

    Edit;

    Hmm, cross reference shows it being used on G240s...wonder if it'll place the shifter any farther back than the stock sheet metal plate setup.

    Double edit;

    Seems like it should fit. I'll update whever I order it an install, if I remember.

    What they're saying about 25112225369 is that you can bolt it to the top of the trans and be able to use your old shift arm. So about $5 in parts compared to how much the old sheet metal carrier is. Up to you and how fat your wallet is.

    Well, it really does not matter, it's the early shifter carrier.

    Just go on realOEM and look up the part for a 1984-85 318i.

    Indeed. Has any one used one of these on a 260 gearbox? The M3 would have had a 265 box, i think. I'm curious if it puts the shifter in the same place/angle as a late 260.

    Your bro is correct, you need a sheet metal shift tower, etc. I have the same thing in my car, an early trans and a late car.
