Another Clutch Diagnisis: Squeaking When Engaging

Does any other component produce more weird noises and mysterious behavior? Probably not. Here are my particular symptoms, I really need help narrowing it down to the right part(s) to replace so any $0.02 is welcome.

    1) Clutch squeaks / chirps when partially engaged and when the car is moving at slow speeds. Speeds up and disappears with velocity. I thought it might be a wheel bearing but...
    2) Squeak stops when I depress the clutch, is silent in neutral.
    3) No slipping detected but the car has always been prone to lurching at 2500-3000 rpm when starting from cold. That's probably not related to the clutch.

I think it's the clutch disc, but what do you think? Also, how likely is it that I'll be stranded or wreck the rest of the clutch if I keep driving? Generally everyone says that clutch problems should not be ignored but human nature is what is is and I'd like to put repairs off as long as possible.

Update: Most likely not the clutch, probably something with the drive axle but won't know for sure until I have one one more knowledgable put it on a lift and take a look.
