Do E30 and E36 differentials interchange?

Someone please explain this to me - will a E36 diff fit in a E30? What is required to install it?

318Ti & Z3's only. All other e36's no.

The Crown wheel, Pinnion & centre are interchangable (internals of same size diff 168-188-210 etc...), but NO, a E36 Diff casing will not bolt into a E30 subframe as Jordan said.
