    Issues with Rein CSB?

    89 (build 8/88 ) 325i, G260, 3.73 LSD, 277k miles.
Had a shift linkage failure and the shift rod shredded the giubo and back-up light wiring. I thought I should replace the CSB while I was there.
Yesterday I replaced the Giubo (Lemforder), CSB and CGB, along with wiring and linkage bits.
I'm not satisfied at all with the fitment of the Rein CSB. Either the bearing didn't seat far enough on the shaft, or the rubber flange protrudes too far to allow the dust cap to sit deep enough for the snap ring to engage. Fearing damage to a new part, I didn't want to tap too hard on the bearing to seat it, so I used 1.5" PVC pipe and a rubber mallet to drive it on just enough to get everything to fit. Like I said, the dust cap really didn't sit deep enough either, so I got everything close and then pushed the snap ring down with a screwdriver until it clicked home. Anyway, once assembled, the CSB bracket didn't spin freely like the one I removed, and it seemed to bind up slightly for about 1/4 of the full turn. The car is a dd, so I had to get it back together. On test drive, there is no vibration or rumble, but there is a squeak at low speeds, and I feel like the car decelerates faster when I ease off the gas.

Anyone have similar experiences or advice? Thanks
