Selector rod length question

I'm using a g260 from an 83 323i is the selector rod the same length as the rest of the early cars 180mm?

This is slightly off topic - I have a 323i with 2.7i - I'm planning on swapping in a stock 2.5i m20 in while I tear down the 2.7i. Do I need to change anything regarding the shifter set up?
