Hey guys!! New to this forum. Posted a thread earlier about this topic but it didn't post for some reason. Anyways, I have a transmission (Getrag 260) to swap into my 91 e30. I bought a shift assembly from a 90-92 e30. Problem is that my trans is dated 1987 or 88. So the linkage and bushings are slightly different. The shifter rod is different and so is the piece that selector rod connects to on the trans (it's called a shift rod joint I guess?). I put it on with the trans just sitting out on the floor to test to make sure it shifts correctly) It will shift into all gears except 1st. And i think its because the geometry is just slightly off. Would i be able to get a full shifter rebuild kit for a 91 and put it onto an older trans from 88? Technically they should exactly the same internally right? I'll post pictures of the differences in the morning.
