In rebuilding the linkage I decided to try and stiffen the rear shift mount. I took a mod from my subaru days (although used on a trans mount) and applied it to the E30. I took some two part 'window weld' and filled in the gaps in the mount rubber and it made a difference. I compared the modified mount to a brand new OE unit after all the shift linkage bits were rebuilt and in place so it would be a fair comparison new -vs- new. It worked well and did make a noticeable difference.
NOTE: Only non-oe part used is AKG Delrin Front Shifter Housing Bushing.

The pics don't show what I did very well, but you get the idea. I put a stiff substance in the voids in the rubber mount. I may end up modifying my new spare mount and putting it in the classifieds as I really have no need for a spare new stock one. :D
Thanks - Jon
