The dowel pin, i guess poped out of my car after a 20 min highway run, i cam off the highway went to downshift, ground 2nd ground 1st. then i put it in third and tried 2nd again. this time nothing, it felt like there was a hole where the gears should be, they did not engage or anything, no grinding, no contact. I checked all over the linkage and it was fine so i figured it had to be the internal linkage.
I dropped the trans, drained all the fluid and out came a dowel pin.
Im just wondering if this is a common problem and is it an easy fix once im in there? ive rebuilt old jeep 3 speed and gm sagnaw 4speed transmissions before but never messed with anything newer.
getrag 260's are a dime a dozen so i doubt its worth tearing apart...
