Ok. Maybe I just missed it but I didn't seem to find the right answer. If I did, maybe someone can point me in the right direction. Here goes:
On exhaust notes, I have two different sets of manifolds available to use. One set has been modified out of a set of X5 manifolds and I have the complete E38 set that I can still use. I'm leaning toward the E38 set as I can attach the new exhaust sections to the ends of the pipes with a little welding and I am changing out the steering linkage like this one:

Is it necessary to run cats with the M60? I was planning to keep as much of the stock e30 exhaust setup as possible to keep my cost down along with mount options (rear section is almost brand new!!). I had already swapped in a dual pipe exhaust from a '91 e30 parts car before I blew the M20. Was going to cut out the cats altogether and just run straight pipes with the x pipe connecting everything together. No worries of emissions testing where I live so not worried about that. Any issues with doing this that anyone can see?
Thanks for the help!! Hopefully when I get home from my deployment, I can get my bodywork finished and get the engine assembled and installed. Doing research while I have the time!!
