HP goal? Max RPM? Are you going to upgrade the valve train? Because the stock springs will limit you.

Thank you! I've been looking into a way to do this with mine.

I used 80 grit the whole time. I’ve read about people going from 80 all the way to 220 but I knew I was putting texture coating on it that would bond just fine. I used regular ole Bondo body filler because from everything that I’ve seen and read the padded dash filler is not worth it.

The texture coating was key, the dashboard came out great and I am more than satisfied with it. Patience was the next biggest contributor to the success, getting the filling and sanding right.

    That’s just the texture coating.

I would definitely recommend the SEM texture coating to anyone looking to do this project. Easy to work with and great results.

I was deciding between the matte and gloss finish for the vinyl paint. Glad I went with gloss, I think it looks closer to OEM than the photos I’ve seen with matte.

    CD009 Gear Ratios
    3.78
    2.32
    1.62
    1.27
    1.00
    0.79

T56 Gear Ratios 1996–1998 Camaro/Firebird (Ratios can be slightly different depending on donor)
    2.66
    1.78
    1.30
    1.00
    0.74
    0.50
The CD009 ratios are more like BMW ratios. With an LS, you'll probably want to find a 2.79 or 2.93 rear. The T56's work better with the rear gears that E30's were typically built with.
