In the restoration of a 1983 320i I have just started working on the door hinges (the two on each side that holds the weight of the door).
Two hinge pin bushings are totally gone making the hinge wobbly. Therefore, I want to remove the hinge pins and replace the bushings and possibly the pins if needed. However, I have not yet managed ro remove them. It looks like you would just have to drive the pins out in one direction but they are really stuck and I dont want to risk bending something in the process. Any advice how to get them out?
Looking at realoem for my car, the hinge type shown is not the correct one. It shows the later e30 version where you just remove a bolt on each hinge and lift the door up/out.
These door hinge pins and bushing do not seem to be sold as spare parts anywhere. Would a universal set do?
