    While replacing the clutch ...

At minimum, I would change the disc, pressure plate, pilot bearing, and TO bearing. Plus the clutch fork pivot pin. The pivot pin is a plastic piece that costs less than $2. If it breaks (and they do), you aren't going anywhere.
I have seen at least as many BMW clutch failures from a weak PP as a worn disc. The TO bearing is a no brainer, too.
Lubricate the splines with the special grease. Use moly grease on all the other pressure points....the TO bearing guide sleeve, the contact points of the clutch arm, and the clutch fingers where the TO bearing touches them.
Also consider changing the three transmission seals.
The job is so much work that you don't want to do it again in six months.
In a little over a year, I have removed the transmission on my 318i project three times. Admittedly, one time was for an unforseeable rear main seal failure, but I sure would have bought all the parts at once if I only knew.
    Fair warning......
