OEM Electrical Tape

my guess, adhesion.
i would hope that the expensive tape adheres better than dollar store. also i have noticed in some cheaper (non cloth) electrical tapes that they dont stretch well. when i apply e tape i try to give it a bit of a stretch, this wraps it tighter and helps it stay in place.Leave a comment:

the only problem i see here is he has
money>>>sense
but hey more power to you, theres nothing wrong with spending a shitload of money on an old ass car. (at least thats how i go to sleep at night)Leave a comment:

$25 for a roll of $8 tape, when most won't even use Super 33, which is only $5 for a bigger roll...and now mr. serious is butthurt about the reaction?
Might wanna tape his entire body with that shit, since the skin is so thin.Leave a comment:

usually it is in that one thread, or at least it used to be. i think he did a pretty good job of that. i think it might even be the longest thread in the project forum.
i now recall the m30 swap stuff and remember his stubbornness... i overlooked that. yes it was handled poorly, especially since it was genuine help people were giving at the time. but i also think we need to remember how young he is, remember how many months ago that was, and cut him some slack, or else he might just never post again (most of you might not care, but i'd like him to stick around). And we should also remember that when we were that age we also knew everything (i still do ;) ).I don't think it's his nice car or the lack of humor. It started when he would take alot of pictures of basic stuff that most people had common knowledge on. Some people poked fun, but it wasn't nothing out of the norm for here. Then it went down hill when he started this m30 swap. Alot of people chimmed in on it and was offering positive advice, like "hey, those timing chain guides look alittle worn for that being rebuilt not so long ago", "may want to check the rings and bearing for safe insurance before you put the motor in the car".
We got smug replies back and he thinks everyone is out to see his swap fail. It's like wow kid, the people who are telling you this stuff has been down the road before. And just trying to help you out since this is your first swap. Now we got threads like this. A $30 roll of tape, 97% of the people on here is not putting their car back to factory specs nor are they going to spend $30 on a roll of tape.
and besides, there have been more useless threads. 97% of r3v won't spend that much on a roll of tape, and 97% of r3v won't spend $2k on a set of BBS RS's, either. :)Leave a comment:

with that said, i can understand how frustrating it must be for him, trying to contribute to the e30 community with information pretty much no one else has, only to be ridiculed by a bunch of people who only wish they had an e30 as nice as his. he isn't on r3v to goof off like many people are- most if not all of his posts are very serious and on topic and i imagine he wishes to be taken seriously. i think people need to be a little more sensitive to his feelings with regards to this. it's ok to be nice sometimes. it's not like he is going around shitting on everyone else's threads.

Granted it is unfortunately that Andrew tries to help and gets shit for it, but I'm pretty sure the majority of us don't feel this way. Most of us drive POS E30's and goof off on R3V because it's with other people with POS E30's and a whole lotta porn. I think its cool that he's doing his OEM build, but its almost seems excessive when he posts new threads for recent additions with 20 pictures of the same thing at different angles. Perhaps one big build thread that can be bumped would suffice?true. what bothers people is his lack of a sense of humor when people make fun of him, which only makes people make fun of him more.
