1990 Cabrio warning triangle

I was able to find the euro first aid kit and triangle holder for my 90 Cabrio. It's basically just a piece of moulded carpet that snaps into the right side of the trunk. I have added a first aid kit which fits nicely. My question is about the triangle it holds. I purchased the triangle which is known as the E30 triangle but it's too large... 20 inches. The triangle holding channel in this piece is deep for 15 inches and shallow for 3. Can anyone help me with this? I have searched eBay.de and still can't find one that would fit. Why would this be a different triangle then what was issued for the standard e30?

I think that the 5-series tool kit is wide enough for that long triangle, it goes along the top.


The 5-series tool kit bolts right onto the e30 trunk lid.

Yea, I looked into that too. It doesnt work. Its a strange situation.
Any triangle that that I have come across is too long.
