So I just bought my first e30 (WHOOOOOOP!!!!) and I'm already running into problems (who woulda thought??) :P
I have a problem with my locking mechanism in my driver door. The lock doesn't lock when unlocked and doesn't unlock if locked (AKA.. It's jammed) I checked the trunk lock so it's not the central locking, but I did notice that the lock mechanism in the door latch that is attached to the CL doesn't budge.. I think the door latch assembly itself might be the culprit, cause the CL works but unlocks right away because im suspecting the door latch is jammed.. Only thing is the three screws in the side of the door are so wrenched that not even my giant winter arms can torque them open (if it was summer and a few less layers of flab... Maybe lol) I didn't want to strip anything, so I just gave up, but it's definitely a huge annoyance not being able to lock or use the central locking anymore.. I even locked my keys in on accident because my locking slipped when I shut the door.. Thank you AAA!
Any suggestions? I know for sure it's not the door lock or the central locking cause they both work fine and I pretty much know FOR SURE it's the latch assembly: the mechanism that is attached to the central locking. Just don't know what the next step is exactly...
