    Cooling, CSB, Rear Transmission Leak?

Finally gave the E30 a pretty thorough look through underneath, confirmed some issues I suspected, found out some items were perfectly fine.

Guibo & Transmission supports look perfect to my surprise. Inner & Outer CV boots need replacing, not bad but beginning to crack.

The bushings on my control arms look pretty shot, can you replace just the bushings or do the entire control arms need to be replaced?

Next question is how would I look for CSB wear/damage? Any obvious things to look for? I didn't really see it when I looked just now but I just looked up where it is so I'll check it out later today.

So I have an oil leak but now I'm very unsure about where it is coming from. My steering rack is drenched in oil but it has been for a while, I need to clean it off to get a better idea of where oil is coming from up there (if it is still coming).

The other thing is that there appears to be oil leaking from where the transmission connects to the driveshaft/guibo area. What is that seal back there called and is that likely the cause of that leak?

Last issue is a possible coolant leak?? I'm not sure. I'll get pictures when I get back under later if needed.

So on the underside of I think the water pump and timing case cover or some areas around it there is what appears to be a creamy brown residue, looks similar to the milkshake you see when coolant gets in oil. My oil is fine though, no coolant is leaking into my engine as far as I can tell. I know oil can leak into the cooling system as well though. I peaked at my coolant and realized it was low (why the hell have I never checked this since I got my E30???) but it appeared to be clean, kinda hard to tell.

However the milkshake stuff looks very old, there is very little and it is pretty much dried onto the areas where it is.

Any ideas on any of these issues will be greatly appreciated!!!

One I get the above things cleared up and figure out which of them I need to replace, I'll be making an order from Pelican. I have a brand new water pump, accessory belts, and some other maintenance items so this weekend I'll be replacing those and doing a coolant flush of course, so that should give an idea of the coolant issue.

    Thanks in advance!
