    noise at 1800 rpm

    87 325e 5spd...making a strange vibrating sound at 1800 rpm. Doesn't matter what gear I am in. Any ideas?

          can you describe the noise? is it a heavy or light noise?

          start by checking exhaust shields, motor/trans mounts.

              Exhaust heat shields and muffler mount would be the first places to look.
