Cleaned out my throttle positioning sensor yesterday, and one of the most challenging parts seemed to involve splitting the case to get at the internals.
Here was my solution:
There are four tabs indicated by the orange arrows, what I did was take a small flat head screw driver, pushed it down in between each tab, and on each tab gave the screw driver a couple smacks with my palm. The key here was really the vise, since the 'ears' of the TPS held the upper portion of the TPS against the vise which allowed the lower cover to separate downward.
Cover came off undamaged and clicked right back together after. Hopefully this helps someone out, because it wasn't something that was covered anywhere I looked.
