The compressor clutch broke a little while ago, so I had it replaced with another clutch from a used compressor. after that I had the system converted and seems to run ok, my only complaint is that performance suffers a great deal when it's 90F out, but that can be expected, I guess.
Well, last week we had a heat wave, and I was running the A/C quite a bit. I have the fan on 2, and after about 10 minutes of city driving, the radio speakers start making this extremely loud high-pitch sound, that goes away when I turn off the A/C.
Disabling the auxiliary fan didn't solve the problem, so I am thinking it is the E-M clutch on the compressor, but I'm just guessing. Any thoughts on that?
One oddity was that when I filled the a/c system, the compressor clutch engaged when the system was empty. I am pretty sure I'm supposed to bypass a sensor in order for the compressor clutch to engage, but it just kicked in on it's own.
