Just installed an HID kit. It includes a wiring harness with relays that power the ballasts directly.
Upon turning on the low beams, the check engine light starts blinking randomly. (Yes, check *engine*, I also get the check light and the low beam out light, but I expected those. Any way around these also?)
Often settles down after a while, but I usually get a few solid minutes of random blinking, doesn't seem to be associated with throttle position or anything else.
I put my right ballast behind the headlights, right above the AC dryer. Left ballast is right in front of the shock tower, near the auxillary relay housing and sort of close to the fuse box. Electromagnetic interference maybe? With what-ignition coil, fuses...?
