For people with a red46 skid plate on an M20, did you just leave your forward wheel wells open, where the plastic belly tray connects to the wheel liners? The only bad things I guess are road slop spraying up behind the bumper and front valance, and the liners are loose at the forward edge.
You could cut the outer ends of the belly tray and try to hang them back on to the liner and valance / lip, but I think the inboard portion where it stops at the skid plate will just be flopping around with no support.
