Anyone ever fitted a hood-prop rod?

    use a cane, broom handle... pretty much any sturdy instrument you can find to use.

    I used a piece of pipe that was about the size of the shock body. I cut it down to the lenth i needed the hood to stay up. For me it was about 2.5" long. I cut mine that short since i'm taking the e30 to car shows/cruises now, and i don't want the hood all the way open. But i'm sure this way would work with hood opened up all the way. I took the pipe and cut a section out of one side for it to slip over the rod on the shock.     Just because your shock still holds the hood up most of the time doesn't mean it's not bad. Replace it.
