13 button OBC Harness question (7 and 10 plug difference)
I saw somewhere on here someone mentioning that there are two different OBC harnesses; the 7 (newer) and 10 (older) button version. I have the 10 plug version but have a late model year 325ix ('91), and after looking at the harness it looks like three of the plugs could simply be removed.
On the end where the main green plug (to OBC), there are three additional plugs. A single female plug closest to the green plug, and then two others that are both three prong with colors (male: yellow/white, green/red, and black), and (female: yellow/white, green, and black). the yellow/white, and black leads off of the female run up to the male, so that means that the main wires for both of those are the green/red and green.
On the opposite end of this harness the smaller green plug (to brain) is followed up by two females; one with blue and brown (I'm assuming temp sensor) and the other with green and green/red. I looked all over and simply put, if i just remove this whole line of green and green/red would i effectively have the newer 7 plug harness?
if you need photos let me know, but otherwise any help would be great.
