That's what I did. No more leak. I used it for a cold air intake. LOL, just kidding.

Im thinking of shaving the third brakelight altogether. I will weld the holes closed and repaint the trunk lid.

    Has anyone here done this?

Mine leaks too but its because I have a major rust hole under the 3rd brake light. About the size of a quarter.

Maybe just silicone around the hole through the lid, so even if water makes it under the plastic it can't get in the trunk?

I silicone caulked around the entire brake light and it still leaks like crazy, I am now convinced it is leaking in around the lense and in from there... it is absolutely the only possibility. My tool kit tray is a swimming pool.

not what I wanted to hear. I've been trying to fix mine too. My tool kit fills up with water every time it rains!

I checked/replaced the taillight gaskets and the trunk/boot seal. Right now I have the hardtop on, and its still leaking and its filling the jack space in the boot with water. I see condensation on the trunk lid, around the toolkit, so I figured I should try to replace the seal on the 3rd brake light as well. I really just want a new seal without buying the whole assembly. Where are the drainage holes located for the convertible top? I want to check they are not clogged as well. Pics?

    Thanks again!

If you can't fix it with silicone caulk are you absolutely sure it's coming from the brake light? not the taillight gaskets or the convertible top or something else?
