E30 gearbox questions

Is there any major differences between the earlier and later model gearboxes aside from the sensors holes ? I'm currently putting a later style gearbox with the sensors holes onto a earlier engine. Anything I should look out for ? I will be using the clutch setup, starter and slave from the later gearbox. All input will be appreciated!!! Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk

Check the bellhousing depth. There are rumors that the dual mass transmissions have a deeper bell for the dual mass flywheel.
But I've never run across one personally, yet.
