Just another orange e30 m3 build!!!

Hello everyone I haven’t been on the forums in years but some of you on here know me and some don’t yet. My name is Nicky. And here is my build. This is one of the few m3’s iv owned/ own. However this one is a bit special to me.

Date was September 1st 2016, when I made the decision to drive halfway across the country to Green Bay, WI on a journey with my cousin to pick up a very very bad stripped nearly “dead” e30 M3 Shell! Thankfully none of my A-hole friends didn’t stop and say it was a terrible idea, but hey S**t happens!!! We packed up and took on the road 36 hours of straight driving with minimum sleeping with left Labor Day weekend of Friday and came back late Sunday night, from Green Bay, WI to South New Jersey. (What a trip that was).

Background of the Shell, well it was bad lol, it was a track car for a while and it was stripped down to help other m3s in build progress to be completed! So I decided it was a fantastic amazing idea to buy it and build a complete car. ( I know who in their right mind would do such stupid thing) yeppp yep this guy waffles♂️waffles♂️!!!

To make things better I purchased a 1992 325is with a s50b30 swap and lots of goodies to source the drivetrain I wanted( I actually daily drove that car for about 5500/6000 miles to make sure things were good) not that it matters now as you’ll see everything got rebuild anyway .

To make things even worse I picked up a 1987 325is coupe automatic car, it was a s**t pile but having a complete car for little pieces here and there in the backyard was easier then daily junk yard trips. Well late February of 2017 the e30 m3 Shell went to body work and paint (yay but not really, because that was the worse most stressful part of the entire damn build, god never again). As the Shell went of to paint, well I got to work with a few very awesome friends, yes I dragged them into this for not saying a damn word about not buying this m3!
1st we stripped down the e30 325is down to what I would say nothing! Labeled everything boxed everything up, body hardness and everything you can think of, and yes that pos was off to the Junk yard.

Next!!! Well you know where this is going we pulled the drivetrain out of the e36, and the e36 roller was off to its new owner for a lsx/t56 swap ( worked out great) more space in the backyard!!!!!

As you will see in the photos I got refresh the entire engine and trans and all of that good stuff!!! So now that you know how this crap started all here is a build list and tons of photos! Lmk what you think about it, if you don’t like it wel build one on your own! Jk I don’t care if you don’t like it, but if you do feel free to share the love.

Alright here comes the first stupid question! How in the hell do photos get posted on here, I have them all on my Flickr, however If I just copy and paste the url there will be 140ish links to click. There has to be a better way :hitler:

So cool, Id love to have the space (and money) to take on a project like this. The original condition on the tow truck doesn't look bad from that picture.

Thanks brother, that was on a random street on it’s way to the body shop, I build the car in a one car garage, it was little pain in the butt, however better then doing it outside. Progress took about 14 months in total from start to finish :)

As far as condition it was blah, I’m picky and when I stripped it down to metal there was so much pointless body filler on spots that had no damage, but hey now is pretty damn up to standard. ;D
