thermostats housings leak in below freezing temps

Here in Northern PA we have some cold winters and temperatures in the teens are common. Ive had 2 of these thermostat housings leak bad where the two halves are crimped together. Has anyone else experienced this?

I think about every new thermostat I've bought leaked a little. Very frustrating
