    E36 rear shocks on E30 - possible?

I purchased a pair of AST 4100 front E36 fitment coilovers for my E36/Z3 5 lug E30. The guy I purchased the fronts from has the AST rear dampers available still.

I was curious, has anyone been able to run these on an E30 with no issue? Noob question, I know, but I do have a chance to get these for a pretty damn good deal and didn't really know if they would work (lots of conflicting info.)

Too tall, maybe buy them then resell so you can buy a set of e30 rears?

They'll fit. You could always run them with the "tall" shock mounts GC sells so they aren't bottomed out all the time.

Well, I bought them. Time to order GC tall mounts.

They showed up over the weekend. Easily 3/4" longer than a stock E30 shock.

Anyone want some really nice E36 AST 4100 rears or trade for the exact same thing, but for an E30? Lol

That's what the tall shock mount is for. ;)

I am using E36 ASTs on my 5 lug e30. I am making my own shock mount extensions. We have used these on 2 other cars and they work fine.
