When I start the car (325iC '88) or after braking and driving slowly, I hear a roaring shaking noise under the front passenger seat. The noise goes away after driving fast, but going slow or after starting the car or after braking, I hear the noise. At first I thought it was wishbone mount bushing, because it was also crack, but after changing it, the sound is still there. The mechanic that help me said it might be the transmission specifically the drivershaft flex/guibo or the center driveshaft bearing might be broken and needs replacement.
Now he wants labor cost, and so I'm just going to do it alone. Anyone ever had this kind of problem and noise???
I am a car repair newbie, more a computer geek, and just got into repairing my car this last year. I currently have the bentley book for my 325 and also the 101 performance projects for your BMW. For the 101 book, it explains the replacement for the drivershaft.
