    Fwd Subframe Engine Mount

I've noticed an aweful clunk when turning the wheel in one direction lately. The metal flange that sticks down below the RH engine mount (part of the subframe) is somehow digging into the knuckle where the steering rack and tie rod attach. I can't figure out if the engine mount is rusting sagging down into the steering rack, or what could possibly be going on. The steering rack appears to be straight. About the same time this started happening, the steering is VERY unresponsive...my Jeep is more responsive.

Has anyone heard of anything like this before? I'm stumped on this one.
As always any constructive input is appreciated.
    Thanks! :)
