    Wheel/caliper clearance- measurements?

    Hi all,
I have an 89 318i with standard brakes all round. I am looking to do an sr20 engine conversion so have picked up some 325 rotors & calipers for the front. I am waiting for local DOT to get back to me and approve the job.

With the strong AU$ against the Euro i am wanting to buy some custom 16" wheels. I want to get the deepest dish rims i can as i like that look, and also the lowest offsets i can. As such spacing the wheels out probably wont be an option.

My question is in relation to caliper clearance, particularly the measurement of caliper protrusion past the hub mounting surface. The company I'm speaking with have measurements for standard 325 calipers and can make the wheels to clear those. However considering the cost I'd like to keep these wheels a long while so I am not sure if I should request a bit more room for 'future proofing'. I want to sacrifice as little as possible tho as I want maximum lip.

As such I was wondering if anyone actually had measurements for caliper past hub face for some common setups? Ie 325 stock, RX7, Massive kits?

If I can compare these clearance levels then I'm sure I can spec a fair amount of clearance on the wheels I order.

Thanks in advance for any input,
    Ant
