how are you guys dropping your rear sub frame?

I like the 3 jaw puller idea, except what does the middle part pust against.

the only idea I have is it will hold the flat edge and you'd have to hammer the puller down

I think I used a 1" drill bit to drill up from the bottom to get the broken bushing collar out. Drill a little at a time and make sure you don't go too far, it only took a few minutes and was pretty easy. Almost the exact size it needed to be as well. i had a real bear of a time getting the subframe out of my 318, my m3 came apart much easier. Just be patient.

I also used a 4' long 2x4 and levered it between the slightly lowered subframe and the body. Pull up on the 2x4 and it works pretty well. It's a little hard to get the angle right but once you figure it out it's a great way to pull the subframe down from the body.

If you pull out the seat, in the corner there are plugs you can pull to get access to the top of the hole for the subframe. You may have to dig out the sealant goop that is in there.

You can try tapping the remains of the bushing 'nipple' and threading a large bolt in there, then coming from above with a hammer and drift and knocking them out. I would strongly encourage you to use lots of penetrating oil and letting it soak for a long while before you try.

I had to use a Dremel and cutoff wheel to get mine out, huge PITA.
